Providing students with these opportunities are fundamental to the Library’s vision as an active community support center - “Explore. Development of mathematical formula for recalculation of employee benefits.Creation of financial graphs for the administration office.Collection evaluation, recommendation and weeding of a biography collection.Curriculum development for, and conducting of, a STEM program.Recent Internship/Practicum Student Work: All five managing departments (Administration, Youth, Adult, Technology, Customer Relations, Materials Management) are headed by librarians, which allows us to not only provide experience with standard topics, such as reference desk work and customer service, but with up-to-date technologies (3D printer, robotics), office management (financial procedures, budgeting, statistics, building management) and materials handling (ordering, processing and data entry). The Library has an enthusiastic staff that will work with you to create meaningful projects. The Elmwood Park Public Library is looking to provide area students with opportunities to gain work experience, and make personal connections in the field of librarianship, technology, and education.
